What will it cost?

When you think about the cost, I really want you to think of it as an investment. You are taking an important step in your education, and learning some lifelong skills that you can leverage while searching for career opportunites as well as use on the job.

To be on the safe side, you should plan on budgeting around $3,500 for the trip (not including "fun money" or money for souvenirs, etc.) This may differ somewhat depending on the cost of flights, exchange rates, etc.

As of November 2023,

the euro is average (around $1.09 per 1 euro)

against the dollar (meaning exchange rates are ok - over the past 5 years, the rate has been at a low of $0.97 to a high of $1.25. Also, round trip airfares have been reasonable, so hopefully it will be under $1,000 but better to be conservative in planning your budget. (flights tend to vary from a low of $600 to a high of $1,200)

We will stay in BUSINESS hotels - this is a BUSINESS trip after all. This means the hotels are nice, so you need to dress appropriately, and act professionally. Anyone not acting in an appropriate manner will be sent home on the next available flight (at your expense) as well as a forfeiture of any fees paid. It's not that hard - behave properly, enjoy the experience, and learn lots!
