Loras students analyzed several retail districts in the Dubuque area:
- The 4th & Bluff street area - a mix of "tourist" shops in historic (1800s) buildings
- The "lower" Main street area - a mix of shops, bars, and restaurants in historic (1800s) buildings between 1st & 4th streets on Main
- The University Avenue/Alta Vista St area - a mix of shops, bars, and restaurants close to the Loras College and University of Dubuque campuses
- The University Avenue/Asbury Road area - a mix of shops, bars, and C-Stores close to the University of Dubuque campus
Two other groups of Loras students analyzed the retail districts along Main Street in Galena, IL, a historic town known as the home of President Ulysses S Grant. These shops tend to focus on upscale tourists that primary come from the Chicago area:
- The South Main Street area - between Water and Hill streets
- The North Main Street area - between Hill and Meeker streets
NOTE: a spreadsheet containing a list of all the stores in these districts is available.
