In 2017, Loras College announced the formation of the Francis (Frank) J. Noonan School of Business.
While Loras has offered business majors for a number of years, the recognition of a "School of Business" is a "big thing". Here is some of the history of the school:
- 1950s Prof. Frank J. Noonan gets approval for a "business major"
- 1980s Sister Margaret Mary Cosgrove serves as the Chair of the Department of Accounting & Business and helps to grow the numbers of majors
- 2000s Prof. Karen Sturm serves as Chair, and continues to build the Department
- 2010s Loras begins strategic planning to launch a "School of Business"
- 2018 Prof. James Padilla is hired to serve as the 1st Dean of the Francis J. Noonan School of Business
