What will it cost?

To be on the safe side, you should plan on budgeting around $2,800 for the trip (not including "fun money" or money for souvenirs, etc. This may differ somewhat depending on the cost of flights, exchange rates, etc. As of January 2015,

the euro is at a 9 year LOW

against the dollar (meaning exchange rates are in our favor - more Euro for $1 US), so that should be good. Also, round trip airfare for the trip should go down somewhat, so hopefully it will be under $1,000 but better to be conservative in planning your budget.

We'll be staying at a nicer "business hotel" or apartment complex in Dublin - while it adds to the cost, it pays off making it much more convenient for our travels around the area. The fact that it is a "business hotel"/apartment requires that you will be expected to dress & behave in a "business professional manner". Anyone not acting in an appropriate manner will be sent home on the next available flight (at your expense) as well as a forfeiture of any fees paid. It's not that hard - behave properly, enjoy the experience, and learn lots!
