The Paddlewheeler Spirit of Dubuque

Spirit of Dubuque

This boat is a "paddle-wheeler" called the Spirit of Dubuque. These large boats used to go up and down large rivers like the Mississippi, the Missouri, and the Ohio, and were used to transport both materials (lumber, grain, etc.) and people during the 1800's. Today, tourists ride on this boat to take in the natural beauty of the river, and re-live days gone by.
