SUMMER 2007 PARKING INFORMATION

Parking is probably going to be a problem at both summer workshops this year. Parking is often a problem on this campus, but this summer it will be worse than usual. For campus maps, please click on one or more of the links below. The Keane Hall parking lot (essentially where the "star" is on the loras_map.pdf document) is being resurfaced this summer. Therefore that lot is not available, and it won't be available until some time in August (probably after our second workshop). Therefore all of the other parking spaces around campus are at a premium. It is extremely unlikely that you will be able to find a parking lot at the Alumni Campus Center, as many of you have done in the past. It is possible that you would be able to claim a spot there if you were here at 7:00 in the morning, but I can't guarantee that. The standard advice that the college is giving people is to park at Nativity Church. This is on Alta Vista Street South of Loras Blvd, near the intersection of Alta Vista St. and Martha St. (see loras_map.pdf). Chris thinks that you may be able to find parking on Cox Street near 17th Street. The tennis courts that are visible in the satellite image may or may not be there any more; I haven't had a chance to check. There is a large new building (our new Wellness Center) that is going up in that area, and that building does not appear on any of the maps or satellite images. Chris also thinks you might be able to park near the Loras College San Jose Pool / Graber Center. That would be just a little bit North of 17th Street off of Cox Street.

It is very important that you arrive promptly at the Ballroom in the Alumni Campus Center at 8:00 on Monday morning. We have some forms that we need everyone to fill out. Then we will administer the Algebra portion of the Michigan test.

Hopefully one or more of the maps below will help. The first document is one I created myself using information I found from Mapquest (www.mapquest.com). The other two are lower-quality images that I got from various people at Loras. You or may not find them useful. If you have any questions about any of this, please get in touch with me by phone (563-588-7708) or email (daniel.willis@loras.edu). Thank you for your patience and your understanding!

Dan
