During cross country the fall of this school year I was an alternate for cross country state, and at state the team got 2nd in 4a, which was the highest finish at the time. This school year was the first time I went to state for any sport, and it was for track and field in the spring in the 4x800. It was the slowest ever qualifying time for that event in 4a state history.
This school year during track I went to the Drake relays for the 4x800, which is a very talent filled meet that many don't get to go to. I again went to state for track in the 4x800, but I ended up dropping the baton during an exchange with one of my teammates. I graduated close to the top of my class with a cumulative GPA over 4.0
I ran just over 1000 miles in 14 weeks for cross country, and I was in one of the best shapes of my life after it. However I got covid in September of the same year, so it kind of took away a lot of my fitness which wasn't fun.
During this summer I broke a bone in my foot in early June which interrupted my cross country training, but it could've been worse. I did get to go to Colorado for an extended weekend in early August to visit my girlfriend as she finished up an internship there in Golden. That was one of the best weekends of my life, and I am trying to get my own internship there.
