Loras is blessed to have an abundance of alumni who are making a difference in their careers and communities. This year the National Alumni Board will honor five graduates and one faculty member with a Distinguished Alumni Award. Five Inducted into the Loras College Athletics Hall of Fame
Five new members were inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame during halftime of the Loras football game on September 6. The Hall of Fame was established in 1983 and recognizes former student-athletes for their exemplary athletic achievements and contributions made to Loras College. MORE>>
Take a Trip Down Memory Lane this Fall with 175th Anniversary Keepsake
To commemorate our rich history and traditions, the Loras Archives has partnered with an anonymous donor to create a 32-page pictorial retrospective of Loras College. "A Peek at the Past" will be available for purchase this fall and will include a timeline and a handpicked selection of images from the thousands of historical photographs. MORE>>
Sabbatical Helps Faculty Improve Expertise, Teaching Skills
Loras faculty are experts in a variety of subjects. Sabbatical leave provides another opportunity for faculty to improve their competence as creative and interpretive teachers. Internships in Dublin, Ireland Give Loras College Students Experience beyond the Classroom
For Loras students, a semester abroad in Ireland is more than studying at a foreign school and being exposed or immersed in a different culture. Unlike most study abroad programs, these students not only study at Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology, but also successfully complete an internship in Dublin. MORE>>
In 2009, I was fresh off a service trip rebuilding homes in New Orleans when I started my college career at Loras. I knew that I wanted service to be a part of my college experience. In my four years, I was lucky enough to get involved in a variety of service work, on campus through Dance Marathon, and around the Dubuque community. MORE>>
