Loras College to Host 2nd Annual Business Analytics Symposium Analytics Business Symposium

The Center for Business Analytics at Loras College invites you to attend a spectacular event in order to learn the many ways the proper analysis of big data can help companies step up to the next level.

Loras College's annual Business Analytics Symposium takes place on March 27th, 2014 at the Grand River Center in Dubuque, Iowa. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the concept of creating a culture of analytics, from keynote speaker, Gebhard F. Rainer. Rainer is the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for the Hyatt Hotels Corporation.

Other topics include sustainability, sports analytics, forecasting and budgeting, performance evaluation, long range strategic planning and social business, all delivered by expert speakers from the region and the country.


Pope John Paul II Biographer, George Weigel, Coming to Loras February 25
Loras is hosting George Weigel, biographer to Pope John Paul II, for a free lecture and book signing on February 25 in the Alumni Campus Center's Marie Graber Ballroom. Weigel will discuss his latest books "Evangelical Catholicism: Deep Reform in the 21st Century Church" and "Roman Pilgrimage: The Station Churches." MORE >>
The Catholic Church in Ireland Today, March 28-29 at Loras
Loras is hosting a free series of presentations and discussions examining the contemporary Irish Catholic Church Friday, March 28 and Saturday, March 29. Split into four unique sessions, The Catholic Church in Ireland Today symposium will include experts from Ireland, the United States, and Canada. MORE >>

Want to sing at Carnegie Hall with the Loras Choirs?
Choral and Vocal Activities Director Bruce Kotowich will conduct a Loras performance in the Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall in New York City on June 3, 2014. Present choir students as well as Loras choir alumni have the opportunity to perform on the trip, and everyone is welcome to attend. MORE>>
Loras adds Mens Volleyball
Loras College Athletics Director Bob Quinn announced on Monday January, 20th the athletic department will be adding men's volleyball for the college's 23rd intercollex`giate sport. The inaugural season will begin in spring 2015 and the team will compete as an independent while competing in the Athletic and Wellness center on campus. MORE>>
National Mock Trial Invitational Held at Loras
Loras College hosted the National Mock Trial Invitational, the oldest and the largest mock trial tournament in the country, Friday and Saturday, January 31 and February 1. Teams from all over the United States descended on Dubuque for one last competition before the medal season begins in February. MORE>>
