Alum Supports Neuroscience Through Inspiring Lives and Leadership Campaign

Analytics Business SymposiumLoras College is getting into mischief. Thanks to the generous $50,000 Inspiring Lives and Leadership: The Loras Legacy campaign gift from Nicholas Stanek, M.D. ('84) and his wife Nita of Dubuque, the College was able to acquire a mischief of mice and build a lab for the neuroscience program.

Because of the generosity of the Staneks, the program is providing crucial, hands-on experiences. Ne
uroscience majors are able to apply textbook knowledge to tangible work, and encounter the challenges and advantages associated with designing and conducting primary research.

Sport Management Team Wins National Baseball Analytics Case Competition
The competition was held as part of the SABR Analytics Conference and challenged teams from across the country to analyze a problem that a professional baseball team's general manager might encounter, and present their decisions. Loras Offers Summer Youth Athletic Camps
As Loras College continues to celebrate its 175th anniversary, another Loras institution has reached an incredible benchmark: Loras College All-Sports Camp has exceeded 50,000 registrants. To celebrate this momentous occasion, the 50,000th registrant, Matthew Groskopf of St. Charles, Ill., received a $300 camp voucher. MORE>>
Jim Naprstek ('13) Joins Loras College as Sports Information Director
Naprstek returns to Loras after working at Marian University as an athletic communications graduate assistant under Luke Pattarozzi ('08). While there, Naprstek was the primary sports information contact for the men's and women's hockey programs. In addition, he worked extensively in the fields of video production, graphic design, and social media. MORE>>
